A day at camp
The same day, a new material
Every day follows one rhythm, so campers know what comes next and can give their attention to their hands.
- 8:30 a.m.
Step 1: Sign-in
An adult on your list signs your camper in at the door, and a counselor walks each group to its table.
- 9:00 a.m.
Step 2: Circle and demonstration
A counselor shows the day's first step, slowly, with the material in hand.
- 9:30 a.m.
Step 3: Morning studio
Campers work at their own pace while counselors move between tables, asking questions more than giving answers.
- 12:00 p.m.
Step 4: Lunch and outside time
Lunch from home at the long tables, then a break in the orchard shade with a water bottle.
- 1:00 p.m.
Step 5: Afternoon studio
The morning's work continues, or a second piece begins, and counselors count the tools back in.
- 2:30 p.m.
Step 6: Clean-up and a look around
Hands are washed, aprons hung up and the group walks the tables to see what everyone made. Pickup is at 3:00 p.m.
